Product iteration :
A product development company instituted a workspace for displaying images of a variety of possible new designs, each linked to a discussion where the team made comments on pros and cons, and suggestions for changes. A set of task lists were established, linked to an overall dashboard showing summary information. In this way, all teams can see where bottlenecks may occur, and there is motivation for everyone to move their tasks toward a "green light" state.

Alignment for a new strategy :
A well-established technology company needed to align around a new product strategy for a flagship product needing adjustment to a changing market, and for a team with high ownership in the existing product who were skeptical of changes. First, a survey was conducted of issues and solutions. Then a series of meetings were held using computer support to develop goal statements for each of a set of balanced future state components. After agreement was reached on the key goals, teams were assigned to work on projects for each of the components, tracking their progress so everyone could see.

International Association - Board work and standards:
A professional organization with members on every continent wanted a work area for its Board of Directors, who live in many countries. After working well for developing discussions of policies and planning for large meetings, the Board decided to expand the site to provide basic information to the membership on standards, chapter contact information, learning opportunities and upcoming events.

Collaborative inter-government project planning :
A development group within an international Commission needed to facilitate the development of policies, standards, and best-practice sharing among representatives of governments from 30 different Latin American countries, in order to promote the use of information technology within 8 major sectors of economic growth in the region. Work areas were set up online for each of the groups, where they could gather information, develop priorities, work on policy documents, as well as survey large stakeholder groups throughout the region.
